How I Use My Time to Say Goodbye to My Old Self

🌍 English version below ↓

How I Use My Time to Say Goodbye to My Old Self

Hello, everyone around the world living beautifully and authentically — this is soso.
How do you make time just for yourself?
What I’m able to do right now:
My goal is to wake up at 5 a.m., and from there I check social media on my phone.
There’s so much information in this information age that I sometimes want to look away,
but the truth is, I don’t want to be left behind, and I want to keep up with the latest news.
Because I want to avoid touching my phone as much as possible while I’m with my child,
I think “what a waste, the way time slips by before I know it after I wake up,”
and yet I also find myself thinking “this time, when no one can disturb me, makes me happy.”
Sluggishly rubbing my sleepy eyes, I get up,
take out my stretching mat and roller, and start by loosening up my body.
After all, on days when I move my body even for just ten minutes, I feel lighter in both mind and body,
so I try to keep it up on the days I can.

Then I think about tonight’s menu, prepare my daughter’s breakfast, and so on.
This is how my day begins.
In my twenties, I couldn’t have imagined a life like this.
I’d wake up one hour before leaving the house.
Racing against the clock, I’d do my skincare and makeup, and gulp down bread and coffee without a moment to think “this is delicious.”
Even with no time to spare, if my outfit wasn’t coming together, I’d change again and again,
“This isn’t right either, maybe this one’s better,” pulling out one piece of clothing after another,
and in the end even swapping my shoes over and over.
Somehow settling on that day’s outfit, I’d rush off to work in a bad mood.
And of course, when I got home, the clothes I hadn’t chosen that morning would be scattered across the bed,
and I’d come face to face with a messy room.
Why has the way I use my time changed so much between my twenties and my thirties now?
Perhaps it’s because I realized, overwhelmingly, how important time alone is,
or so I think.
I don’t know whether the way I spend my time now is right,
but controlling my own mood by myself is very important.
I still want to indulge myself and take it easy,
but sometimes being strict with myself, sometimes pampering myself,
eating the foods I love and chatting with friends.
Bit by bit saying goodbye to my old self, leaving myself to the flow of time,
I hope to spend my days slowly, and to grow and change slowly, in good spirits.
To be continued next time.

Keeping yourself in good spirits is important, isn’t it.
And respect and love for those around you are incredibly important.
To everyone around the world living beautifully and authentically, today as well,
I’d be so happy if you’d read my blog again.
Love and respect, to live in good spirits today.
With love, soso
